VCSS is a homeschool enrichment program designed in the style of a micro-school. It offers consistent teachers, peers, rhythms, expectations, curriculum, projects, and experiences while preserving the flexibility and family responsibility of homeschooling.

Parents remain active in their child’s education and continue at-home study to reinforce concepts, advance grade-level requirements, and cover subjects beyond the available school-day schedule. The Village Community School of Sarasota does not replace the parent’s role. It strengthens it with community, expertise, and opportunity.

A Place For Children Coming From Public or Private School

Transitioning can bring relief and uncertainty at the same time. Your child may need space to rebuild confidence, rediscover curiosity, adjust to a smaller community, or receive support in one subject while advancing quickly in another.

At The Village Community School of Sarasota, entry assessments, parent insight, and teacher observation help determine the right starting level. A child may be in one level for math and another for literacy. Students may move levels as they grow. The goal is not to label a child. The goal is to help that child flourish.

Our current families are seasoned homeschool families from all different types of backgrounds. They are happy to share their experiences, resources and recommendations at your request. The beauty of being a part of a Village is sharing with your your community to help lift them up and make their lives easier. At VCSS, we have all been first-time homeschool parents at one point and love supporting families in their own homeschooling journeys.
