Faith and Formation

Jesus is not an additional Bible study class in the Village day. He is the foundation and center of every aspect of The Village Community School of Sarasota and how we live our daily lives.

Faith Woven Into Each Lesson

Biblical application, identity in Christ, and God-given purpose are woven throughout curriculum and lessons whenever possible. Students learn that faith is not confined to a devotional moment. It shapes how a builder pursues excellence, how an entrepreneur treats a customer, how a leader serves, how a citizen discerns, how a family practices hospitality, and how a child cares for creation.

Daily Faith Formation

A table with six rows and two columns. The first column lists themes: Rhythm, Prayer and blessing, Scripture, Village Table Talk, Meaningful work, Stewardship, Service. The second column describes each theme's formation: learning gratitude and spiritual leadership; biblical truth and decision-making; connecting God's Word through respectful conversation; work respecting dignity and honor; trusting resources as blessings from God; children practicing love and service.

Faith In The Curriculum

Entrepreneurship

A student can build a business to manipulate people or build a business to bless people. VCSS teaches ethical creation, service, generosity, stewardship, and integrity.

Building and Craftsmanship

Strong foundations, careful work, safety, perseverance, quality, and service become both practical skills and spiritual conversations.

Garden and Animal Stewardship

Students encounter patience, dependence, responsibility, life cycles, creation care, provision, and the truth that growth cannot always be rushed.

Citizenship and History

Students learn to seek truth, compare sources, understand constitutional principles, honor what is good, recognize human fallibility, and participate responsibly.

Leadership and Communication

Leadership begins when someone notices a need, chooses responsibility, and serves. Words are used carefully, generously, truthfully, and to bring life.

Our Hope For Every Student

The Village Community School of Sarasota exists to help children become wise, capable, joyful, faithful people who know how to love God and love others well. Our one-of-a-kind and fully integrated curriculum is the vehicle that helps us practice those truths every day.
