Admissions Process
A thoughtful admissions process for a relationship-centered community.
We want families to understand the mission, ask honest questions, and feel confident about the partnership. Every interested family completes an Initial Admissions Application, Introduction Call, Enrollment Packet, and Family Interview.
Before You Apply
The Village Community School of Sarasota is an explicitly faith-based homeschool co-op enrichment program, rooted in Christ and Biblical truth. Families continue homeschooling at home, support attendance and at-home study, communicate openly and respectfully, and participate in a community centered on faith, responsibility, belonging, and meaningful learning.
Enrollment Steps
1. Submit your Initial Admissions Application. A member of our Administration Team will reach out to you to setup an Introduction Call.
2. Introduction phone/Zoom call with Director or Business Office Manager.
3. Complete Enrollment Packet and submit non-refundable $250 Annual Family Fee and the $150 Student Supplies Fee per student. The Student Supplies Fee covers the student’s materials for the semester. If your application is not accepted or you are placed on a Waitlist, then your fees will be refunded with the exception of the $100 deduction for the Application Processing Fee. The Application Processing Fee helps our school pay for the administrative time necessary for processing Initial Admissions Applications, Enrollment Packets, Introduction Phone Calls and Family Interviews.
4. In-person Family Interview with Director.
5. Upon acceptance, families have 14 calendar days to submit semester deposit/tuition, depending on the time of year, as outlined in the Enrollment Packet.
*If enrolling after August 8th for the Fall Semester or after December 8th for the Spring Semester, semester tuition and fees are due within 7 calendar days upon acceptance notice.
What Happens During The Conversations
Introduction Call - Learn about the family’s goals, current homeschool situation, child(ren)’s experience, program interests, schedule needs, faith fit, and major questions.
Family Interview - Discuss the child(ren) more deeply, review expectations, clarify academic and program fit, build relationship, and allow both VCSS and the family to discern the next step.
What Helps Us Understand Your Child(ren)?
Academic history, current homeschool approach, and previous school experience.
Strengths, interests, gifts, motivations, and areas of confidence.
Academic needs, support needs, allergies, health or safety considerations relevant to participation.
Social experience, independence, communication, emotional regulation, and readiness for a group environment.
Family goals, schedule, at-home capacity, faith alignment, and willingness to partner.
